Springtails for Sale

Springtails are the foundation of any bioactive setup. These tiny detritivores live in your substrate and leaf litter, eating mold, decaying plant matter, and waste before it becomes a problem. A healthy springtail colony is the difference between a vivarium that maintains itself and one you're constantly cleaning.

They're also one of the most useful backups in the hobby. If your fruit fly cultures crash on a feeding day, springtails will keep your frogs going, and they're especially valuable for froglets, which have almost no reserves and can't wait for new cultures to come in.

Why keep springtails:

  • Mold control — they eat it before it takes over your enclosure
  • Waste breakdown — they process frog waste and decaying plant material
  • Emergency food — a live backup when fly cultures fail
  • Froglet food — small enough for recently morphed frogs
  • Self-sustaining — establish a colony once and it maintains itself

Springtails work in any bioactive enclosure: dart frogs, geckos, snakes, tarantulas, isopod colonies. If it has substrate, it benefits from springtails.
