The "Fine Spot" Leucomelas is a stunning and sought-after variation of the classic Venezuelan Bumblebee Dart Frog. While standard Leucs feature thick, bold black bands, the Fine Spot locality is characterized by an intricate explosion of tiny, crisp black dots peppered across a high-contrast yellow or golden-orange background.
"Leucs" are widely considered the best choice for first-time dart frog keepers for several reasons: they are bold, active, and less prone to "hiding" than other species. Most uniquely, D. leucomelas is one of the few dart frogs that truly vocalizes with a loud, beautiful bird-like trill. They are also among the most social dart frogs, often thriving in small groups. Hardy and visually spectacular, these Fine Spot specimens add a level of intricate detail to any bioactive tropical vivarium.
Shipping and Live Arrival Guarantee Dart frogs are sensitive to temperature and dehydration. We ship all frogs in insulated containers with phase-change packs to maintain a stable environment. To learn more about our professional live-animal transport, please visit our Shipping and About Page.
Please Note: Images are representative only. As juveniles, the spotting may be less dense, becoming more intricate as the frog reaches maturity. Unless marked "Exact Animal," you will receive a healthy, well-started froglet from our premium Fine Spot breeding line.
