If you want a gecko that looks like it was etched from stone and painted with fire, the Red Stripe Gargoyle Gecko is the perfect choice. While standard Gargoyles feature beautiful reticulated or marbled patterns, the "Red Stripe" morph is a designer standout. It features bold, linear racing stripes of vibrant red or deep crimson that run the full length of its body against a slate-grey or creamy-white background.
Native to New Caledonia, Gargoyle Geckos are named for the distinctive cranial bumps on their heads that resemble the stone statues of Gothic cathedrals. They are widely considered one of the best "beginner-to-intermediate" reptiles because of their simple care—they thrive at room temperature and eat a specialized powdered fruit diet. They are also famous for their "prehensile" tails and their ability to regenerate them if dropped, unlike their Crested Gecko cousins. Docile, hardy, and visually stunning, the Red Stripe is a true living work of art for any arboreal vivarium.
