Terrarium Egg Crate Drainage Grid – 8 Panel Set with Brackets

Egg crate is the base layer of a no-soil bioactive terrarium, and this set gives you enough to build several tanks. The rigid PVC grid sits on the bottom of your enclosure and creates a drainage void beneath your sponge layer, so water drains through and collects below instead of sitting where it can cause bacteria, mold, and smell.

This is exactly how we build our own no-soil terrariums. The egg crate goes down first, the drainage sponge sits on top, and water passes cleanly through to the grid below. Because there's no soil to replace and nothing plumbed or drilled, you can lift a corner of the build and siphon out excess water any time, even with your frogs in the tank.

The panels interlock and trim easily. We use garden shears or utility scissors for clean cuts. Cut the grid to fit your enclosure, and if you want a cleaner look through the front glass, stop the egg crate short of the front and use a small sponge or grid wall with clay balls (LECA) in front, so you can still see your water level.
