The Viper Gecko (Hemidactylus imbricatus) is a small-scale marvel of the reptile world. Named for the keeled, overlapping scales that give them a rugged, "viper-like" appearance, these geckos are a masterclass in desert camouflage. Native to the arid regions of Pakistan, they are famous for their thick, carrot-shaped tails (used for fat storage) and their unique, sideways-wiggling gait.

As adults, Viper Geckos remain delightfully small—rarely exceeding 3 to 4 inches—making them the perfect candidate for a stunning "micro-desktop" bioactive arid enclosure. Despite their small size, they are bold and active, often seen exploring their environment during the twilight and evening hours. Because they are terrestrial, they prefer rocky crevices and sandy substrates.
